In Abbotsford, we acknowledge that we work, play and reside on the traditional and unceded territory of the Stó:lō people, the Semá:th and Màthexwi First Nation who have lived here for thousands of years. What better way to honour the original caretakers of the land than to come together to learn about the history and enjoy food together on the banks of the Sumas River in an area where Sumas Lake once existed.

Want to go? The only way to secure your spot for this intimate experience on October 8th is to win it. Raffle tickets are available until September 30th, they are only $2 each and can be purchased in any amount including in books of 25. Please reach out to Barb Roberts at broberts@tourismabbotsford.ca to make arrangements for buying tickets. FYI – we’re happy to drop by your place of work to collect money and drop off the tickets!

Only one winner will be drawn with the winner able to invite up to nine family and friends along with them. Or perhaps the winner will want to use it for team building and will bring along a group of coworkers!

All proceeds go to support culinary training for Indigenous students in the Sto:lo Aboriginal Skills & Training catchment area. The training includes traditional Indigenous techniques of cooking and foraging, as well as preservation techniques of food and stewardship of the rivers and oceans for salmon conservation

Don’t forget to reach out to Barb Roberts at broberts@tourismabbotsford.ca to make arrangements for buying tickets! This is a unique opportunity you don’t want to miss.
