August 11, 2020

Get inspired by the bounty of farm fresh food that is available here in Abbotsford, or pick up a meal to go from one of our local restaurants and head to one of the many parks and outdoor spaces to enjoy your meal al fresco. Abbotsford has an abundance of locally grown food and plenty of wide open outdoor space so get out there and take advantage of it with your own picnic!

Lepp Farm Market & Clayburn Village

Lepp Farm Market is a picnic lover’s dream! They carry a variety of locally raised meats, Mt. Lehman cheeses, and many premade meals that are ideal for an impromptu picnic. In a rush? Stop by the Farmer’s Table Café to see their take away lunch menu or grab a sandwich to go. After grabbing everything you need at Lepp Farm Market, head down the street to the historic Clayburn Village area to enjoy your feast. This quaint community makes the perfect backdrop for an outdoor meal. There are two grassy park areas for you to enjoy in Clayburn, one across from the Clayburn Village Store, and one beside the Clayburn School.

Singletree Winery

On the rolling hills of Mt. Lehman is where you’ll find Singletree Winery and their fabulous picnic space. The best part? It’s fully licensed! That’s right, you can stop by their tasting room and purchase some local meat, cheese, and crackers and enjoy it with a bottle of Singletree’s award winning wine! With both lawn space as well as picnic tables available this is one of Abbotsford’s hidden gems and the perfect place for a picnic style date night.

Inside Nature’s Pickin’s you’ll find tons of locally grown and produced meats, cheeses, vegetables and more. Takeout in Mill Lake Park

Grab something to go from a local restaurant and head to one of the most popular parks in Abbotsford! Mill Lake Park has something for everyone, lots of grass space, walking trails, a playground and a spray park. There are lots of great restaurants to choose from that are offering excellent take out options, we love Restaurant 62 or Big Feast Bistro for farm-to-table options, Brodeur’s Bistro for Cajun inspired dishes, Little Saigon for delicious Vietnamese, or Gian’s Indian Cuisine for some of Abbotsford’s best curries!
