Perfect Picnic Places in Abbotsford

The sun is shining, the grass is green, so it’s the perfect weather for picnics once again in Abbotsford. There are many great park spots to lay blankets, talk with friends and enjoy the outdoors. Check out the compiled list below for a few local favourites.

ECODAIRY AND NATURE’S PICKIN’S

Grab some EcoDairy ice cream and Nature’s Pickin’s snacks as you check out their backyard green space. This picnic spot offers wheelchair-accessible tables and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. They are also part of Abbotsford’s Circle Farm Tour. FISHTRAP CREEK PARK

Fishtrap Creek Park is a go-to place for walking the Discovery Trail and searching for wildlife. A paved trail goes around the park, where you can journey through a tunnel of trees to the viewpoint gazebo. If you are lucky, you might happen to catch a glimpse of a beaver swimming down the creek!

SINGLETREE WINERY

Located in the heart of Mt. Lehman, Singletree Winery is a family-owned business that offers a tasting room with knowledgeable staff and a grassy area to sip and swirl your bottle while overlooking their scenic vineyards. One can taste a sample or two, choose a favourite, and then savour a glass under an umbrella. Pair your drink with a Singletree charcuterie box, and you are all set for a perfect afternoon!

GRANT PARK

Are you looking for an excellent spot for a family picnic? Check out Grant Park for its accessibility-friendly playground, forested area and shady tables. This park is right off the highway, making it an ideal road trip break point to stretch your legs, go to the washroom, and let the kids run around. 

MCDONALD PARK

McDonald Park is a peaceful picnic spot located off Number 3 Rd. Exit. Enjoy a barbeque with provided campfire spots, watch the ducks swim by, or a walk along the Sumas Dyke. There is a small playground for kids and many shady tables for relaxing. If star watching is on the summer bucket list, McDonald Park also provides clear views of the city’s shining stars.
