Let’s Go Do Something…With Jenn Chan!

Jenn Chan is a woman of many talents! A published photographer, a producer and editor for news broadcasts, and a lifestyle influencer focusing on food and travel content, you can count on @jennchanmedia to have her finger on the pulse of what’s new and cool. It’s no surprise her life in Vancouver is busy and that she’s always on the go. But when she looks for a quick escape to slow down and enjoy some of the best that the Fraser Valley has to offer she loves to make a quick escape to Abbotsford with her fiancé. “I think people always think Abbotsford is so far away, myself included, but I realized it’s just in our own backyard, it’s an hour away and once we’re out here there’s so much more to explore.” Jenn loves a glass of crisp white wine so she kicked off her weekend in Abbotsford’s Mt. Lehman wine region. The rolling hills and vineyards set against green pastures make for the perfect backdrop while enjoying a glass or two on the patios of Singletree Winery, Mt. Lehman Winery, and Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery. Next Jenn headed to Historic Downtown for some shopping and dinner. “I find that there’s so many great things to do in Abbotsford, from wineries, to great food to nature and it’s nice that it’s so close to home,” says Jenn. While wandering the quaint streets of the Downtown neighborhood Jenn was able to take in some of the local murals (and snap a selfie!). This area is home to a number of unique locally owned boutiques where you can find everything from clothes and homewares to books and records! She popped into Bureaux Modern Mercantile, a trendy shop full of clothes, accessories, home decor, apothecary items and more. After picking up some cute new items it was time to grab dinner and a cocktail!

Jenn and Andrew wrapped up their fun day at Nine. Downtown Kitchen & Lounge. It’s the perfect spot for a cozy date night, with two patios and a fun atmosphere inside. Share a brick oven pizza and their famous onion rings and let their friendly staff help you pick out an intriguing cocktail from their handcrafted recipes. After a busy week this is the perfect getaway out of the city for a couple, or even just for someone traveling alone! “It’s so important to me to escape the city once in awhile, just to be able to reconnect with myself and to reconnect with the people I love.”
