DAY 1

Start your weekend getaway with breakfast at Ann Marie’s Café, a charming 50’s-style diner that feels like it’s been pulled straight from a movie set! They serve comforting classics, from hearty breakfasts to juicy burgers, all paired with timeless ice cream treats in a nostalgic retro setting.

After breakfast, head to Historic Downtown Abbotsford, a favorite film location for countless holiday and romance movies! With a wonderful array of local shops and charming spots, you’ll easily picture yourself stepping into a scene about returning to your small-town roots after spending too much time in the big city.

After picturing yourself in a timeless holiday or romance film, head over to Tuscan Farm Gardens during lavender season. Let the calming aroma of lavender surround you while indulging in delicious lavender-infused treats and beverages. This stunning garden is also a sought-after filming location, having appeared in major productions such as Virgin River (2019) and small-screen favourites like Roadhouse Romance (2021).

Visiting outside of lavender season? No problem! Head down the road to Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery and enjoy a glass of wine while soaking in the breathtaking vineyard views—ideal for a golden hour photo op. You might also recognize Seaside as a filming location for the TV series Wild Cards (2024), starring Vanessa Morgan (Riverdale) and Giacomo Gianniotti (Grey’s Anatomy).

DAY 2

Begin your second day of Abbywood adventures with freshly brewed coffee and a warm pastry from Aurora Roasters! You might recognize this cozy café as the backdrop in several films. Plus, they’re famous for roasting their coffee beans right on-site, giving every cup a rich, authentic flavour!

After breakfast, make your way to Lakeland Flowers, an ideal spot for a photo op among a stunning variety of flowers. If you’re visiting in April or May, be sure to catch the Abbotsford Tulip Festival and marvel at the vibrant fields of over 5 million tulips—reminiscent of the opening scene of Wicked (2024). In the summer, Lakeland blooms with vibrant peonies, lavender, and colorful meadows that will take your breath away!

After exploring the flower fields, take a short drive to Ripples Winery & New Wave Distilling, where you can savor their wines, creative spirits, or refreshing mocktails. The atmosphere at Ripples Winery will transport you to a tranquil garden oasis, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the scenery.

End your adventure with a delicious meal at Paliotti’s Italian Restaurant, a cozy, family-style Italian restaurant known for its extensive menu of classic and modern Italian favorites.

Fun Fact: Paliotti’s has also been featured in several film productions, including The Best Version of Love (2023).
