Bouquets & Barrels: Two-Day Tulip Season Itinerary

From April to May, tulip season heralds the arrival of Spring in Abbotsford!

Delight in the charming vistas of the Abbotsford Tulip Festival hosted by Lakeland Flowers, followed by a visit to the tranquil gem of Ripples Winery & New Wave Distilling to try out some spirited sips. But your adventure doesn’t end there; don’t miss the chance to wander through the International Friendship Garden to admire cherry blossoms and indulge in tastings at Abbotsford’s renowned wineries.

DAY ONE

Start your morning with a coffee at Hugs in a Mug Café! This comfortable neighborhood café offers a large menu of drink and food items and makes for a great place to stop before heading over to tip-toe through the tulips.

Make your way over to the Abbotsford Tulip Festival at Lakeland Flowers to enjoy their incredible display of 5km of tulip-lined pathways where you will have the opportunity to walk among 70+ varieties of tulips, blooming in all different colours, shapes, and sizes. For those with mobility issues, please be advised wheelchairs are available for use at Lakeland Flowers free of charge.

Now that you’ve worked up an appetite from your walk around the tulip fields, enjoy lunch and beverages at Ripples Winery and New Wave Distilling! This family-owned and operated winery/distillery creates wines and spirits with local ingredients using sustainable practices. In addition, you can partake in some delicious eats from their menu including a Turkey Brie Panini, Mediterranean Baguette slices and more!

Gain some farmhand experience and make some furry friends with a VIP tour at EcoFarm! Explore behind the scenes on the farm with your guide and gain a better understanding of how they use technology to improve animal care and reduce our environmental footprint. Featuring the automated calf rail system, the Hydrogreen where they grow wheatgrass indoors daily for their farm animals, the anaerobic digestor system that converts poop to power and more!

Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time for a delicious dinner. The Table Bistro is an elevated, approachable and artisanal bistro located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford BC. They take familiar ingredients, and add their own twist to traditional dishes, creating a completely new experience, one that is surprising and unique. DAY TWO
